Souvenir Spoons
My Mother had a souvenir spoon rack that lived in the kitchen, on the wall just above the phone. She never traveled much, but others in the family knew she collected souvenir spoons and they made a nice gift for her.
Some people collect spoons from certain towns or tourist destinations, others collect silver, or pewter etc. There are lots of ways to go about it.
As a collectible, souvenir spoons have some nice characteristics. For the most part, they are not expensive. They don't weigh much and require only a small display space. Since they are usually silver, they do require periodic polishing.
